To provide a stud welding apparatus with which welding work which is stable for a long period is made possible by properly controlling the rotation around the axis of the driving spindle 300 without hindering movement in the axial direction of this driving spindle.
The stud welding apparatus comprises a main-body housing 200, the driving spindle 300 which is held in this main-body housing 200 so as to be movable by a prescribed stroke, a chuck adapter 400 which is connected and fixed to the tip side of this driving spindle 300 and to which a stud holding chuck 450 is mounted and a feeder cable 370 which is connected to this chuck adapter 400. A guide projection 340 which is extended in the side direction is provided on the driving spindle 300, a rotating body 362 which is freely rotated around the prescribed axial center of rotation is supported on the guide projection 340 and, on the other hand, a guide slot 270 with which the rotating body 362 is rolled in contact is formed on the main-body housing 200.
