Abstract:
To produce a styrene resin foam excellent in flame retardance and heat insulating properties by using a non-halogenous blowing agent and a non-halogenous flame retardant both excellent in environmental compatibility.
The styrene resin foam is produced by extrusion foaming a styrene resin containing a non-halogenous blowing agent and a flame retardant consisting of stabilized red phosphorus and a thermoplastic phenol resin. The foam is given excellent heat insulating properties by giving it a cell structure composed of large-sized cells and small-sized cells intermingled with each other.
