To provide a molded article prepared from a styrene resin compsn. which is a mixture of a syndiotactic crystalline polystyrene and an isotactic crystalline polystyrene, has a crystallization temp. with a single peak and hence excellent properties inherent in each of both the polystyrenes, and is excellent in moldability.
This compsn. comprises 55-95 wt.% crystalline polystyrene (A) having a syndiotactic pentad fraction of 0.5 or higher and a mol.wt. of 50,000-100,000 and 45-5 wt.% crystalline polystyrene (B) having an isotactic pentad fraction of 0.5 or higher and a mol.wt. of 50,000-1,000,000 and is prepd. by melt mixing both ingredients A and B and cooling the melt mixture at a cooling rate higher than 30°C/min until it crystallizes. A molded article prepared from the compsn. exhibits a crystallization temp. with a single peak when measured by differential scanning thermometry by once melting it at 280°C and cooling it to 30°C at a cooling rate of 30°C/min before the measurement.
