Abstract:
To provide a sub combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine capable of causing an air-fuel mixture deeper than an air-fuel mixture in a main combustion chamber to flow into the sub and main combustion chambers in a simple configuration.SOLUTION: In a sub combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine 1, a main combustion chamber 4 is configured between a top face 12a of a piston 12 and a combustion chamber ceiling surface 40 of a cylinder head 22. On the combustion chamber ceiling surface, an intake valve port 41 and an exhaust valve port 42 are opened while facing the main combustion chamber, and a sub combustion chamber 6 which is separated from the main combustion chamber and in which an ignition plug 61 is mounted, is provided while being opened. In the cylinder head, an intake port 43 and an exhaust port 44 are formed while extending away from each other. In the sub combustion chamber for the internal combustion engine, an air-fuel mixture guide 65 is formed on the combustion chamber ceiling surface while partially covering an opening 6a of the sub combustion chamber with respect to the main combustion chamber by forming an inlet opening in such a manner that an air-fuel mixture that flows from the intake valve port into the main combustion chamber partially directly flows into the sub combustion chamber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
