Abstract:
To provide a sub-material throw-in unit in which operation can be stabilized by controlling the quantity of sub-material being thrown into a shaft furnace type thermal decomposition melting furnace in the radial direction thereof and throwing sub-material depending on the combustion condition in the melting furnace.
The sub-material throw-in unit comprises a sub-material hopper 4 and a bell type stopper 5 for throwing sub-material 9, e.g. coke or ash, into a shaft furnace type thermal decomposition melting furnace 8 wherein a cylindrical stoker 11 is disposed at the lower part of the sub-material hopper 4 continuously thereto and the elevating/lowering bell type stopper 5 is disposed in the cylindrical stoker 11.
