Abstract:
PURPOSE:To efficiently utilize map information by providing a color pattern display control means for displaying a color pattern which has been allocated to a data value of statistics/attribute data which has been related, on a display means by making it correspond to each map element. CONSTITUTION:A map which has been read by a map read means 1 is displayed as image information on a display means 2. The displayed map information is made to have a meaning as map data which becomes a statistical map, by a map element designating means 3. In a relating means 4, the corresponding statistics/attribute data are retrieved by using a representative position for showing a map element which has been obtained by the means 3, and a symbol name for showing a map element which has been designated by a user, and a representative point is stored. In this state, a color pattern display control means 5 displays the statistical data and attribute data on the device 2 by a symbol and a color, by utilizing the representative point which has been stored by the means 4, and a subject map is generated.
