Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a sublimable insect-pest controlling agent free from irritant smell, safe to human body and effective against clothes moth, food vermin and environmental vermin by using cedrol or a solidified mixture of molten cedrol, a pyrethroidal insecticide and an activity promoter as active component.

CONSTITUTION: Cedrol existing in several kinds of coniferous trees is used singly as a component of the objective sublimable insect-pest controlling agent or cedrol is melted, mixed with a pyrethroidal insecticide and an activity promoter (e.g. cyclododecane) and solidified to obtain a component for the objective agent. The pyrethroidal insecticide to be used in the above process is those having low odor and giving little harm to human body, e.g. allethrin or furamethrin. The controlling agent has high safety and quick action. Since the volume of the agent decreases with time, the residual controlling activity can be judged with eyes to facilitate the judgment of the replacing timing.
