PURPOSE: To eliminate a thermal fusion to obtain a high image density by a method wherein a binder consists of polyvinyl butyral, epoxy resin, and amino resin.
CONSTITUTION: A sublimable thermal transfer recording ink sheet is formed by providing an ink layer consisting of a sublimable dye and a binder on a substrate. At this time, for the purpose of improving an adhesion of the ink layer to the substrate and preventing a thermal fusion of the ink layer to an accepting layer of an image receiving body, a binder made of polyvinyl butyral, epoxy resin, and amino resin, a binder made of polyvinyl butyral, phenol resin, and melamine resin, or a binder containing polyvinyl butyral as a main component and 10-50wt.% acrylic resin is used as the binder of the ink layer. As the substrate sheet to be coated with the ink, condenser paper, polyester film, polystyrene film, polysulfone film, polyimide film, polyamide film, or the like can be used.
