Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a submarine boat to navigate underwater at high speed and to plane when floated.
SOLUTION: In this submarine boat, a water jet propulsion machine 4 comprising a pump casing 1 for pressurizing by means of an impeller 10 water sucked from a suction casing 9 opened in a bottom 7 and a discharge casing 12 joined with the pump casing 11 for ejecting the pressurized water upwards astern is disposed at the stern 2, so that the use of the water jet propulsion machine 4 is made possible when the boat is submerged by half. A propeller machine 6 is also provided in which a propeller 19 is anchored to a propeller shaft 18 extended backward of the suction opening 8 of the suction casing 9 from the bottom 7, so that suction resistance at the suction opening of the suction casing is avoided. The propeller machine is used when the boat navigates underwater, and when the boat is submerged by half and when it planes on water, the water jet propulsion machine is actuated as the propeller machine is kept actuated, whereby the submarine boat can be switched between underwater navigation and water navigation while operating at high speed.
