Title:
SUBMERGED ARC OVERLAY WELDING OF HIGH CARBON HIGH CHROMIUM STEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS56141994
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve anti-cracking property of welded metal at the time of overlay welding, by adding specified amounts of C, Si, Mn, Cr, and Nb to the tubular wire and bond flux and, at the same time, by specifying the basicity of flux.

CONSTITUTION: It is arranged that converted content C of either tubular wire or bond flux or both of them expressed in terms of equation I is regulated to 0.8W 2.5% C, 0.2W3.5% Si, 0.3W3.5% Mn, 9.5W18.0% Cr, 1.6W16.0% Nb, and 1.1W 6.4 Nb/C. Moreover, the basicity shown by equation II of flux to be used is adjusted to ≥1.6. Where, the A and B in equation I are actual content percent in the tubular wire and actual content percent in the flux, respectively. Moreover, it also possible to add one kind or more of ≤2.0% Mo, ≤4.0% W, and ≤1.0% V in converted content, to either one of them or both of them.
