PURPOSE: To provide a safe structure of submerged water pipe by a method wherein a pipe diameter, a pipe length and a fulcrum point span for the pipe supporting section and the pipe non-supporting sectin of water intake pipe extending on a containental shelf in the sea are designed under an equation of the specifed condition calculated in reference to a model and theory of calculation.
CONSTITUTION: Water intake pipe 2 etc. for the submerged pipe is comprised of a supporting section 2c supported by a plurality of fulcrum points 4 and a non-supportiong section 2d in which the specified water deposit having a boundary layer for a pressure or non-existence of tidal wave is exceeded. The non-supporting section 2d is freely arranged on the continental shelf in the sea. Both the supoorting sction 2c and non-supporting section 2d are designed in reference to the equations I and II made by a theoretical consideration over an analysis of vibration and by an experiment on the model etc. (In the equation, Ad: cross section of a pipe. ρw: specific gravity of sea water. L1: unit span length. L2: length of non-supporting section. v: flow velocity in the pipe. E: Young's modulus. I: second moment of area. C0: damping constant). Thereby it is facilitated to make a submerged water pipe with a safe structure.
