PURPOSE: To maintain the inside of the sealing chamber in a submersible pump at low temperature and improve the motor efficiency by a method wherein a proper number of heat pipes are provided so that their heat-receiving parts are inserted into the stator and the sealing chamber so as to contact therewith directly, while their cooling parts are exposed in the water, in order to radiate the heat generated in the stator in the water.
CONSTITUTION: Because a proper number of heat pipes 12 have been provided so that their heat- receiving parts are inserted into the heat-generating part so as to contact therewith directly while their cooling parts are exposed in the water, if the temperature in a stator 2 rises owing to the operation of the pump, the working fluid receiving sufficient transferred heat over the overall length of the stator 2 as a heat-receiving part is evaporated and liquefied at the cooling part B exposed in the water, radiating heat. Therefore, the inside of the stator 2 is maintained at low temperature at all times. On the other hand, the heat of the lubricating oil heated to a high temperature in a sealing chamber 6 is speedily radiated in the water by an action similar to that in the stator 2 part through a heat pipe 14. Therefore, the inside of the sealing chamber 6 is maintained at relatively low temperature at all times. Thereby, it is possible to improve the motor efficiency and to prolong the life of the lubricating oil.
