Title:
SUBMINIATURE MECHANICAL TYPE OPTICAL MODULATOR AND PRINTER WITH OPTICAL INTERLACING OUTPUT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06235878
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To generate a single output scanning line by two arrays of reflecting mirrors which engage each other alternately at the same time and eliminates the need for electronic buffer and interlacing processing for half-scanning lines by deflecting the top surfaces of the reflecting mirrors, so that the characteristics of incident light can be varied.

CONSTITUTION: An optical modulating means (reflecting mirrors 20 and 25) which receive light from an illumination light source means and emits at least two beams, and the path of at least one of the two beams are given offsets with respect to the other path in a sagittal direction. The beams have optical properties, and one beam has different optical properties from the other beam; and the device has a means which optically converges one beam with the other beam in the sagittal direction and puts the beams into a single scanning line pattern in a tangential direction. Namely, a double refraction film coating 28 is vapor-deposited on one array of reflection 20. This double refraction film coating 28 eliminates the need for a double refraction beam splitter.
