Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve durability by preventing the lower edge of a subscavenging port from being scuffed by the lower edge of the skirt of a piston.

CONSTITUTION: A subscavenging port 4 the scavenging angle of which forms an acute angle is formed on the rear surface of a cylinder 1 so that the lower edge of the skirt of a piston 6 is positioned at a level higher than that of the lower edge 7 of the subscavenging port 4 when a piston 6 is positioned at a top dead center. A protrusion 8 positioned at a level higher than that of the lower edge of the skirt of the piston 6 positioned at the top dead center is formed on the central part of the lower edge 7 of the subscavenging port 4.
