Abstract:

To obtain the subject substance capable of controlling the supply of oxygen to change cells into dormant states and thereby enabling the flowering of cut flowers or arranged flowers for long periods, the culture of plants in states free from soil, fertilizers, etc., the preservation of fresh foods for long periods, etc., by adding nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium to glucose (polymer).

The substance containing glucose or a glucose polymer and nutrients or animal or plant raw materials is obtained by adding nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium as the nutritive elements or the animal or plant raw materials in an arbitrary ratio to the glucose or glucose polymer. The substance can prevent the inner degradation, overheating, oxidation or putrefaction of fresh foods by their inner nutrient consumption due to the interaction of the glucose or glucose polymer with an organic acid, and further control the supply of oxygen to change cells into dormant states. Thereby, the substance enables the preservation of the fresh foods in the fresh state at the ordinary temperature for long periods, and is useful for the flowering of cut flowers or arranged flowers for long periods, the culture of plants in states free from a fertilizer or an agricultural chemical, etc.
