Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a substance having the ability to carry out at least partial penetration through a blood-brain barrier, further penetrate other substances through the blood-brain barrier and transport the other substances. CONSTITUTION: This base substance contains (1) any one or more pure sugars or pure aminosugars selected from the group consisting of the following: mesoerythritol, xylitol, D-(+)-galactose, D-(+)-lactose, L-(-)-fructose, D-(+)- glucose, D-(+)arabinose, D-(-)-arabinose, D-(+)-maltose, etc., or D-(+)- glocosamine, D-mannosamine and D-galactosamine in combination with (2) any one or more amino acids selected from the group consisting of the following: glutamine, lysine, arginine, asparagine, aspartic acid, cysteine, glutamic acid, glycine, histidine, leucine, methionine, phenylalanine, proline, serine, threonine, tryptophan, tyrosine, valine and taurine.
