Abstract:
Prodn. of non-informational, pure polydesoxyribonucleotides (PDRN) having biological activities comprises (a) pulping the placenta of emochorial mammals; (b) thermal inactivation of endogenous desoxyribonucleases liberated during antolysis; (c) controlled proteolysis of the material; (d) sepn. of insoluble residue from the aq. phase; (e) sepn. of PDRN from the liq. by complexation with solid or liq. quat. bases or by salt formation with divalent metals; (f) purificn. of PDRN after decomplexation or elution with solns. of alkaline earth metal salt; and (g) controlled partial depurinisation of native PDRN in order to eliminate the informational capability (viruses, onogenes). The SO obtd. PDRN are claimed characterised by anticomplement activity in vitro; inhibition of chemical mediators of inflammation in vitro; inhibition of inflammation due to corragheenin or foreign bodies; inhibition of leucocyte migration in vivo; and therapeutic activity on "cervico-vaginities, lesions, due to dithermocoagulation, extropion and transformations areas" (Si2).
