PURPOSE: To provide the new compounds useful as agents for controlling pests such as insects and mites.
CONSTITUTION: The new compounds are those represented by the formula I (wherein: R1 is a (substituted) unsaturated 6-membered heterocyclic group having N atoms of 1 to 3; R2 is H or an alkyl or (substituted) aryl group; R3 is H or an alkyl group; R4 is H or an alkyl, alkylthio or phenyl group; R5 is a (substituted) alkyl or (substituted) cycloalkyl group; X is O or S; and each of Y and Z is H, an alkyl group, a halogen or the like), such as 3-(4- fluorophenyl)-4-pyrid-2-on-1-yl-4,5-dihydro-1-pyrazolecarboxylic acid 4trifluoromethylanilide. Such a compound represented by the formula I, wherein R' is H, is prepared by allowing a pyrazoline derivative represented by the formula II to react with an iso(thio)cyanate compound represented by the formula X=C=N-R5, in the presence of an appropriate diluent and an appropriate base.
