Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A substituted phenoxyphenylurea derivative of formula I (X is 3,4-dichlorophenyl, 2-methyl-4-chlorophenyl).
EXAMPLE: N'-[4-(3',4'-chlorophenoxy)-phenyl]-N,N-dimethylurea of formula II.
USE: Herbicide especially effective to broad leaved weeds. Effective for the weeding of a paddy rice field, and harmless to rice plant.
PROCESS: Reaction of a substituted phenoxyaniline derivative of formula III with a N,N-dimethylcarbamoyl halide of formula IV (Hal is Cl, Br) in the presence of a base affords the objective compound of formula I.
