Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I [Ar is group shown by the formula II (Y is halogen, or trifluoromethyl; b is 1 or 2), or group shown by the formula III; R1 and R3 are H, or methyl; R2 is lower alkyl, or lower alkenyl; X is H, halogen, or lower alkoxy; a and m are 1 or 2].

EXAMPLE: 2-[4-(3,5-Dichloro-2-pyridyloxy)phenoxy]propionic acid 2-(N-methylbenzylamino)ethyl.

USE: A herbicide. Showing improved herbicidal effect especially on gramineous weeds, having low toxicity.

PREPARATION: A compound shown by the formula IV (M is H, or alkali metal) is reacted with a compound shown by the formula V (Z' is halogen) at -20°CW the boiling temperature of the mixture, preferably at 0W100°C to give a compound shown by the formula I .
