PURPOSE: To obtain a new substituted phenylacetamide which is useful for treating hypertensions and atherosclerosis.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I, e.g. 1-L-phenethyl-2-[4-(2-butyl-4- chloro-5-formuyl-imidazol-1-yl-methyl)phenyl]-2-cyclopentyl-acetamide. In formula I, A is a 1-8C alkyl, a 2-8C alkenyl, a 3-8C cycloalkyl; B is H, a halogen, a 1-5C perfluoroalkyl; D is CH2OR3, CO-R4, CO-NR5R6, formula II (R3 is H, an alkyl,; R4 is H, OH, an alkoxy; R5, R6 are each H, an alkyl,; R7 is H, an alkyl or the like; R8 is H, an alkyl, phenyl or the like; R9 is H, an alkyl; (a) is 0 to 2) or the like; L is a substitutable 1-8C alkyl, a substitutable 3-12C cycloalkyl; R1 is H, a 1-8C alkyl; R2 is a substitutable heterocycle containing up to three hetero atoms (S, N, O) excepting tetrazolyl or a substitutable benzo-condensated heterocycle combined via phenyl or the like.
