Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R1 is lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, phenyl which may be substituted, etc,; A is formula VI (R2 and R3 are lower alkyl) or formula VII (Z is O or S; p is 0 or 1; q and r are integers 0W4), etc.; X is H or halogen; Y is O or S; m is 1 or 2; n is an integer 0W2].

EXAMPLE: 2,4-Dichloro-5-methylthiomethoxyphenyl 1-pyrrolidinecarboxylate.

USE: A herbicide.

PREPARATION: A compound expressed by formula II (X1 is halogen) is reacted with an alkali metal salt of chlorinated resorcinol expressed by formula III (M is alkali metal) to give a compound expressed by formula IV, which is then reacted with a compound expressed by formula V in the presence of a base to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I .
