Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain substrate glass suitable for melting molding methods including a direct melting molding method and for a flotation molding method and having thermal characteristics suitable for the substrate glass by specifying the composition of the substrate glass.
SOLUTION: This substrate glass has a composition comprising 52-54wt.% of SiO2, 7-11wt.% of Al2O3, 0-5wt.% of ZrO2, 1-5wt.% of MgO, 5-9wt.% of CaO, 0-5wt.% of SrO, 8-14wt.% of BaO, 20-25wt.% of (MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO), 0-1wt.% of TiO2, 0-5wt.% of Li2O, 2-6wt.% of Na2O, 7-11wt.% of K2O, and 13-15wt.% of (Li2O+Na2O+K2O). The substrate glass preferably has a glass strain point of ≥590°C, a thermal expansion degree of 84-88 (x10-7/°C) at room temperature to 300°C, and a volume resistivity of 109Ω/cm.
