To provide a substrate for hybridization with nucleic acid chains immobilized thereon with surface coverage and the degree of activity enhanced, and a complementary testing method using this substrate.
This substrate for hybridization has, on a substrate surface, dendritic nucleic acid chains including; a main chain nucleic acid partly immobilized on the substrate surface and partly single-stranded; and a single-stranded nucleic acid for a probe partly hybridized with a part of the single strand. This substrate for hybridization has, on the substrate surface, dendritic nucleic acid chains including; a main chain nucleic acid partly immobilized on the substrate surface and partly single-stranded; a single-stranded sub-main nucleic acid partly hybridized with a part of the single strand; and a single-stranded nucleic acid for a probe partly hybridized with a part of the single strand of the main chain nucleic acid and/or a single-strand nucleic acid for a probe partly hybridized with a part of the sub-main chain nucleic acid. In this method, in order to test the complementarity of a target nucleic acid with a probe nucleic acid or with a probe area, the target nucleic acid is brought into contact with a surface of the substrate on which the dendritic nucleic acid strands are immobilized.
