Title:
SUBSTRATE FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3968668
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for a liquid crystal display element which has excellent lightness in weight and heat resistance, uniform transparency, adhesion property at the time of forming transparent electrodes and more particularly excellent flexing resistance capable of preventing the occurrence of crack by bending.
SOLUTION: This substrate for the liquid crystal display element is formed by coating at least one surface of a transparent resin substrate with a transparent film of inorg. oxide. The transparent film of this inorg. oxide consists of the hydrolyzed polycondensate of metal alkoxide. The hydrophilic solvent selected from a group of alkoxy ethanol and dialkylene glycol alkyl ether of a mol.wt. of ≥70 is used as the solvent at the time of the hydrolysis polycondensation of the metal alkoxide.
