Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the material having excellent slidability, friction resistance and fracture toughness and small specific resistance and small triboelectrification property as an electrical property as the substrate material for magnetic heads.
CONSTITUTION: This substrate material for thin-film magnetic heads is formed by using tetragonal ZrO2 contg., by weight %, 3 to 7% Y2O3 or MgO as an essential component and incorporating 20 to 40% TiC and 10 to 25% Al2O3 therein.
