To provide a method for industrially advantageously producing a succinic acid-based composition by separating water from a dilute aqueous solution of ammonium succinate, preferably from a biomass-derived aqueous solution of ammonium succinate while making a partial deammoniation of the ammonium succinate, and to provide a technology of industrially advantageously converting the above composition to a polyester feedstock.
The method for industrially advantageously producing the succinic acid-based composition comprises separating water from a dilute aqueous solution of ammonium succinate, preferably from a biomass-derived aqueous solution of ammonium succinate while making a partial deammoniation reaction of the ammonium succinate. A method for producing a dialkyl succinate, succinic acid or succinic anhydride from the above composition is provided. Furthermore, a method for producing 1,4-butanediol from the above composition, the dialkyl succinate, succinic acid or succinic anhydride is also provided.
