To provide a sucking and holding device capable of achieving the transfer process and the laminating process of an article at one time.

An inner cylinder 31 is connected to a suction nozzle connected to a suction force generating means to achieve the suction at the prescribed timing. An outer cylinder 32 having the inner shape larger than the outer shape of an article 11 is connected to the lower end of the inner cylinder. The inner cylinder 31 is inserted on its lower end side in the outer cylinder 32 by the prescribed quantity, its lower end is opened, and a through hole is formed on its side so as to be communicated with the outer cylinder 32. A notched part 31d is provided on the lower part of the outer cylinder 32. A first article is sucked by the suction force from the lower end, and sucked and held by the inner cylinder 31, and a second article and subsequent ones are elevated and sucked by the flow of the air flowing into the through hole from the clearance between the article and the inner circumferential surface of the outer cylinder 32. A plurality of articles are held in the outer cylinder 32 in a laminated condition, and naturally dropped when the suction is released.
