Title:
INTEGRAL MOLDING METHOD FOR SUPERPLASTIC METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3241524
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To shorten molding time, to obviate diffusion joining of parts not required to be joined, to eliminate the need for application of a joining preventive agent and to reduce material costs and man-hours by maintaining a vacuum state in joining parts and simultaneously progressing molding and diffusion joining.
CONSTITUTION: Plural sheets of superplastic metallic plate materials 1, 2, 3 with which superplastic molding and diffusion joining are possible are superposed on each other and the circumferences of diffusion joining areas 21, 25, 26 are welded to each other by electron beam means. The welded superplastic metallic plate materials 1, 2, 3 are set into molds 8, 9 and the inside of the molds and the inside of the boundaries of the respective metallic plate materials are evacuated to a vacuum and thereafter, the entire part is heated to a mold temp. An inert gas is introduced into the molds and the diffusion joining is effected.
