Abstract:
To provide a suction catheter having excellent suction performance and insertion ease, and also to provide a method for producing the same.
The suction catheter 10 has openings 14 and 15 on the distal and proximal ends respectively, suction lumens 12a and 12b for sucking thrombus or the like, openings 26 and 27 on the distal and proximal ends respectively, and a guidewire lumen 18 extending in almost parallel with respect to the suction lumens for inserting a guidewire. The suction lumens 12a and 12b have a flat part 20 with an oval cross section perpendicular to the catheter in the longitudinal direction at least at a part of the catheter between the distal and proximal ends.
