The suction cup mounting base includes a suction cup for mounting the display article or the other article on a surface. The suction cup is provided with a shell to fit over the outer face of the suction cup and an actuating means for pulling in the suction cup and enhancing a suction force in the suction cup. The suction cup mounting base is constituted so that a release tab of the suction cup is reversibly concealed when the actuating means is operated.
