Abstract:
PURPOSE:To keep a valve clearance adequate at all times and control a separate distance between an arm and a lever according to a state of driving as well as to reduce a control loss to the smallest possible extent, by setting a bracket, which presses a rocker arm down to a stem end, to the back of the lever. CONSTITUTION:The lift volume and on-off timing of a valve 12 performs variable control by altering a separate distance between a lever 5 and a rocker arm 13 with control hydraulic in a hydraulic pivot 19. When the arm 13 exists on the base cycle of a cam 11, the reaction force of a valve spring 12a will act on nothing, therefore large control hydraulic pressure is no longer required. In addition, a hydraulic piston 32 is energizing the lever 15 to move in a direction toward the valve 12, and because of inclines 15c and 18a being slidingly contacted with each other, the lever 15 presses the end of the arm 13 down to a stem end 12b so that it can keep a valve clearance constant all the time.
