To provide a suction mechanism for a photosensitive plate member for reliably sucking a photosensitive plate member to a stage in a simple configuration by using the sucking force by negative pressure even for various sizes of members, and to provide an image recording apparatus equipped with the suction mechanism for a photosensitive plate member.
Cylindrical members 176 are fixed to respective sucking holes 172 in a stage 152, and a piston member 178 housed in each cylinder is energized upward by a compressive coil spring 182. When a substrate 150 is not mounted on a loading face 152P, the piston member 178 is located at a closing position by the force of the compressive coil spring 182 to close the sucking hole 172. When the substrate 150 is mounted, the piston member 178 moves to the opening position against the force of the compressive coil spring 182 to open the sucking hole 172. Thus, the substrate 150 can be sucked by the sucking force by the negative pressure.
