Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wall climbing device that can change necessary suction force in conformity to irregular shapes of suction surfaces such as wall surfaces, and can climb while being suctioned even if being in a various surface state.SOLUTION: A wall climbing device includes a decompression chamber 11 formed in the lower surface of a base body 10, motor fans 13, 14 for forcibly exhausting the inside of a decompression chamber and holding the decompression, and two or more climbing wheels 20 arranged in the base body and moving the base body. Two or more motor fans are arranged in the upper part of the decompression chamber. An upper opening in communication with an inlet of the two or more motor fans is formed in the upper side of the decompression chamber. A flexible member 12 comprising a semi-independent semi-continuous bubble type low-tension compression sponge formed of two or more suction openings divided in response to the number of motor fans is arranged in the lower side of the decompression chamber coming in contact with the suction surface. A shunt member formed of two or more ventilation passages corresponding to the number of motor fans is arranged between the flexible member 12 and the upper side of the decompression chamber. The inlets of individual motor fans are brought into communication with two or more suction openings through the ventilation passage of the shunt member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
