PURPOSE: A suction port member capable of taking in of waste thread without sacrificing operatability wherein recesses are formed in the rear warp portion on the rear of a brush and the lowest face of the brush is located between the surface of the rear warp portion and the bottom of the recesses.
CONSTITUTION: A rear warp portion 12 on the rear of a brush 13 is provided with recesses 16. For cleaning of matts or floor board, a selection lever 18 is so operated as to project the brush 13. With the suction port member 1 floated above the cleaned surface by a rotary wheel 5 and the brush 13, waste thread or the like is scratched by the brush 13 and sucked in from a dust-sucking opening. For cleaning of carpets, the lever 18 is so operated as to withdraw the brush 13. The lowest end of the brush 13 touches the carpet in the area facing the recesses 16 and does not touch the carpet in the other areas. Waste thread in the area where the brush 13 touches the carpet is scratched by the brush 13 and sucked in from the dust-sucking opening.
