Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the generation of noises in a suction port by fitting a suction box having a suction flow lead-in space having a specified lateral cross sectional shape and formed of a porous inner panel and a nonporous outer panel to a suction port of a centrifugal blower, and covering an appropriate part of the suction box with a sound absorbing material.
SOLUTION: A suction box 5 partitioned with a suction flow lead-in space 4 continued to an impeller inlet 6a and formed of a porous inner panel 9A and a nonporous outer panel 9B surrounding the inner panel 9A through an air layer 10 is fitted to a suction port 2 of a centrifugal blower 1. The suction flow lead-in space 4 is formed of a nearly semi-cylindrical space 4A extended in the direction of an impeller shaft 6b and a nearly trapezoidal space 4B continuously provided to the space 4A and extended in a direction crossing the impeller shaft 6b and opened to the atmospheric air at an end thereof, and has a nearly bell-shaped lateral cross section. A back surface of the inner panel 9A is covered with sound absorbing materials 11A-11C, and an inner surface of the outer panel 9B is covered with a sound absorbing material 11D so as to improve the sound absorbing effect.
