PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel compound that can be used for the detection of endo-β-N-acetylglucosaminidase (ENGase) activity and a screening method useful for the development of ENGase activity inhibitors.SOLUTION: A compound represented by the following formula (I) is useful for the detection of ENGase activity. In the compound, a fluorescent group and an extinction group, which bring about fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET), are introduced into a specific pentasaccharide structure.SELECTED DRAWING: None
