Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for synthesizing a sugar chain stereoselectively, without using the intramolecular stereocontrol group, such as neighboring-group participation.SOLUTION: A production method of a stereoselective sugar chain is characterized by reacting monosaccharides or oligosaccharides to each other, or a monosaccharide with oligosaccharide, in the presence of two or more different electrolytes in which either one electrolyte comprises triflate anion, such as tetrabutylammonium triflate and tetrabutylammonium bis(trifluoromethane sulfonyl)amide or tetrabutylammonium bis(fluoromethanesulfonyl)amide. By this method, synthesis of sugar chains which are expected to be particularly biologically active can be performed safely and at low cost.SELECTED DRAWING: None
