NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (X1 is halogen; X2-4 are H, halogen; R1 is lower alkyl; R2 is H, lower alkoxycarbonyl; at least one of X2 and X4 is halogen.).
EXAMPLE: Isopropyl 3,5-dibromo-4-choro-6-(N-methylsulfamoyl)-phenylcabonate.
USE: Miticide. PROSESS:The compound III which is a compound I wherein R2 is H, is prepared by reacting a sulfamoylphenol derivative II with chlorocarbonic acid ester in an inert solvent in the presence of an acid scavenger such as pyridine, at a temperature between room temperature and the boiling point of the solvent, for 2-5 hours. The compound IV which is a compound I wherein R2 is lower alkoxycarbonyl, is prepared by reacting an alkali metal salt of the compound III with a chlorocrabonic acid ester.
