To obtain a sulfur wettable powder composition which exhibits marked controlling effects on of plant disease damage and insect pests and which, since it gives a spray liquid prevented from the precipitation of sulfur particles, prevents the formation of a deposit layer (a caking layer) containing sulfur particles hardly redispersible; and to provide a control method for plant disease damage and insect pests using the composition.
The sulfur wettable powder composition contains sulfur and starch in a compounding ratio of sulfur to starch of 1:0.1-1:5 and, when dispersed in water in an amount, by weight, of 100 times that of the composition, gives a dispersion with a pH of 4.9-10.0. The method for controlling plant disease damage and insect pests uses this composition.
