PURPOSE: To surely track the sun in any direction by providing sensors for rough adjustment on the upper end surface of a shadow forming body and the bottom surface of a substrate.
CONSTITUTION: The prismatic shadow forming body 2 is provided on the substrate 1 vertically, sensors 3 and 4 for rough adjustments are provided on its upper end surface and the bottom surface of the substrate 1, and sensors 5 - 8 for fine adjustment are provided at four sides of the shadow forming body 2 on the substrate 1. Then when the shadow forming body 2 is irradiated with the sunshine SL in a right slanting direction, the shadow forming body 2 forms a shadow on the sensor 5 to generate a difference between the outputs of the sensors 5 and 6. The signal of the difference is generated and a controller controls the direction of a sun tracking sensor main body so as to eliminate the difference between the outputs of the sensors 5 and 6. Further, even when an output difference is generated between the sensors 7 and 8, the controller controls the direction of the sun tracking sensor main body. Then the control is performed continuously as the sun moves, and the sun is tracked.
