Title:
SUNSCREEN HAVING ULTRA-SPECTRUM PROTECTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11116456
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain an optically protecting filter, capable of protecting the skin from the sun light having a wave length region within a specific range, and capable of being sufficiently allowed as a cosmetic preparation such as a sunscreen.

This optically protecting filter is effective in a wave length region of 400-800 nm (VIS region) and/or an infrared wave length region from 800 nm (IR region). The optically protecting filter comprises a pigment (preferably an interference pigment or the like extremely resembled to a natural color of the skin) and/or a dyestuff (VIS reflection) reflecting and/or absorbing the light in the visible wave length region. For example, the optically protecting filter contains the interference pigment, a pearlescent pigment, a VIS-reflective or absorptive filler, the dyestuff or a mixture thereof. The optically protecting filter is preferably mixed in the proportion of 0.5-20 wt.% based on a cosmetic preparation. As a result, the optically protecting filter shows neither a toxicity to the skin nor an allergic reaction, and enables super-spectrum protection.
