To provide a resin-bonded super-abrasive grain tool capable of easily forming super abrasive grain layers of various shapes in a short time and minimizing the work in post-treatment, and a manufacturing method thereof.
Light is emitted onto the surface of a mixed solution of a super- abrasive grain such as diamond, CBN or the like with a liquid photo-curable resin to form a super-abrasive grain layer within the mixed solution. A base is set in a position slightly lower than the surface, and light is emitted to the mixed solution on the base, whereby the super-abrasive grain layer can be formed. The base is successively lowered, whereby the super-abrasive grain layer can be laminated, and a super-abrasive grain layer of free shape can be easily formed. When the above manufacturing method is applied to a thin blade cutting grinding wheel having a small thickness or a forming grinding wheel having a super-abrasive grain layer of complicated shape as the super- abrasive grain tool, a precise grinding wheel can be provided at a low cost in a short time.
