Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the content of a residual (meth)acrylic acid monomer in a superabsorbent polymer.
SOLUTION: The content of a residual (meth)acrylic acid monomer can be lowered to at most 10 ppm by treating a wet gel of a superabsorbent polymer with a mixture of a surfactant with a compound capable of vinyl addition and drying the treated gel.
