Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbocharged internal combustion engine ensuring excellent engine efficiency by pulse turbocharging of a turbocharger while preventing the reverse flow of exhaust gas to cylinders even if exhaust valve open periods of a plurality of cylinder overlap.SOLUTION: A turbocharged internal combustion engine of the present invention comprises: an exhaust manifold (25) connecting exhaust ports (13) of a plurality of cylinders in parallel; a plurality of first connection pipes (26a and 26b) connecting two ends of the exhaust manifold (25) to a turbocharger (18), respectively; opening-adjustable valves (29a and 29b) provided in the first connection pipes (26a and 26b), respectively; a control unit (30) controlling the opening of the opening-adjustable valves (29a and 29b); and a plurality of throttles (28) provided between a plurality of connectors (27) in which the exhaust ports (13) are connected to the exhaust manifold (25). The control unit (30) controls the opening-adjustable valves (29a and 29b) so that exhaust gas discharged from one certain cylinder can be supplied to the turbocharger (18) via the connector (27) corresponding to another cylinder.
