Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent supercharger operating state judgment frequency from lowering by performing both EGR flow rate control and supercharger operating state judgment even if EGR control area is extended to the high load side.
CONSTITUTION: A diesel engine 1 is provided with a turbocharger 10 and an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve 12. Supercharging pressure and control negative pressure supplied to the EGR valve 12 can be detected by one intake air pressure sensor 44. In an EGR control area, electronic control unit (ECU)47 is made to selectively detect control negative pressure by means of the intake air pressure sensor 44 with VSV 29 switched. On the other hand, in a BACS control area, the ECU 47 is made selectively detect supercharging pressure by means of the intake air pressure sensor 44 with the vacuum switching valve VSV 29 switched. In at least a part of the EGR control area, the ECU 47 is made to selectively detect control negative pressure or supercharging pressure by means of the intake air pressure sensor 44 according to time sharing respectively. Based on these control negative pressure and supercharging pressure, EGR flow rate and turbo-indicator are controlled respectively.
