The supercharging system is applied to the internal combustion engine 1 in which a compressor 10a with the vane 21 of a rising and setting type provided in a diffuser part 16 is provided in an intake passage 3. In the supercharging system, when the operation condition of the compressor 10a is shifted from one of a first operation region Z1 in which the vane 21 is to be moved to a stored position and a second operation region Z2 in which the vane 21 is to be moved to a projecting position, to the other operation region, movement of the vane 21 is prohibited until a movement prohibition time Ta elapses.
