Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supercharging system that can suppress deterioration of fuel economy of an internal combustion engine while preventing surging of an auxiliary supercharger when the auxiliary supercharger is started or stopped while a main supercharger is being operated, and a method for operating the supercharging system.SOLUTION: A supercharging system 1 includes: a main supercharger 2; an auxiliary supercharger 3; an exhaust pipe L5 in which exhaust gas flows toward a turbine 3a; a gas inlet valve 5 provided in the exhaust pipe L5 to control a flow rate of exhaust gas; an air supply pipe L8 in which compressed air flows from a compressor 3b toward an air supply manifold 12; a check valve 6 provided in the air supply pipe L8 and becoming an opened state when pressure of outlet air of the compressor 3b is equal to or higher than pressure of the air supply manifold 12; a bypass pipe L9 connected to the air supply pipe L8 and the exhaust pipe L5; and a bypass valve 7 provided in the bypass pipe L9 to control a flow rate of the compressed air flowing in the bypass pipe from the air supply pipe L8 toward the exhaust pipe L5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
