Abstract:
To reliably protect a superconducting coil by commutating a current by detouring a normal-conducting transition region even when a quench occurs in any region of the superconducting coil while ensuring the mechanical strength of the superconducting coil.SOLUTION: A superconducting coil includes a winding portion 16 formed by winding a high-temperature superconducting wire 12 around a winding frame, and a conductive resin layer 17 provided on the side surfaces 16A and 16B of the winding portion, as a detour path for commutating a current I so as to bypass a normal-conducting transition region 18 generated in the winding portion by mixing conductive powder 21 in an insulating resin 20, and in the conductive resin layer 17, impregnated auxiliary fibers 22 having wettability with the insulating resin 20 and insulating properties are provided so as to be oriented in a direction perpendicular to the coil axial direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
