To provide a superconducting coil, which uses the merit of a cover layer that uses a metal layer and an inorganic insulating layer, suppresses reduction of a breakdown strength due to cracks on the inorganic insulating layer and is suitable especially for forcibly cooling conductor, monolithic conductor, stranded conductor, etc.
A superconducting coil is provided with a superconductor 1 and a cover layer 2 which covers the superconductor 1. The cover layer 2 is provided with three-layer laminated tape (laminated body) 5 which covers the circumference of the superconductor 1 in layers and a metal tape 6 which covers the tape 5. The laminated tape 5 is composed of alumina (inorganic insulating layer) 3 and aluminum alloy (metal layer) 4 and the aluminum alloy 4 is arranged on the plane on the side of the superconductor 1.
